Just because we are energy workers, doesn’t mean that we haven’t experienced something threatening or overwhelming that our nervous system is still trying to cope with. Especially because we’re energy workers, we are sensitive to the energy and high activation levels of others. Learning these simple skills of resourcing, clearing and learning to discharge our own nervous system is useful for everyone but especially valuable for energy healers and wellness practitioners. The more we care for our own nervous systems, the less we will be triggered by some unresolved trauma in our clients. The more we have emptied out our “bucket” the more capacity we have to resonate safety and to share these self- care skills with our clients.
In this class you will:
1/ Learn - what increases resiliency and resource in your own nervous system and how it will benefit your practice.
2/ Play – do some fun exercises to repair physical and energetic boundaries, release the charge around setting boundaries, and learn clairvoyant skills for grounding and practicing healthy energetic boundaries.
3/ Experience – Discover why it’s so important to become curious about physical sensations and how you can heal your own nervous system through tracking sensations and discharging the highly activated places, gaining proficiency in “self regulation”.
Emily Van Horn (RPP. CU) has enjoyed 20 years experience as a healing arts practitioner. She is trained and certified in Somatic Trauma Resolution Therapy, CranioSacral Unwinding, Polarity Therapy, and clairvoyant healing. She skillfully blends these various modalities in her unique blend of energy work and therapeutic process, designed to heal body mind and spirit; facilitating increased well being for each client.
Her special focus is helping people who have suffered from all types of trauma. Working directly with the nervous system, she offers new solutions for resolving both shock and developmental trauma.
Sound/Music Healing, Trance & Clinical Applications

Music, Sound, and Trance have been used for thousands of years to heal and enter into altered states of consciousness. Once trance is understood you will be able to use trance states with congruent sound and music to create specific therapeutic outcomes for yourself, patients, or audiences.
During class everyone will learn to use tuning forks like musical instruments to create high quality music and sound trance sessions. Once the principles of music and trance states are understood then any instrument can be used including voice, guitars, bowls, flutes, piano, guitar, drums, sounding bowls, etc. We will focus on universal trance principles and protocols which can be creatively adapted to specific needs. The topics demonstrated during class will be:
- how to work with addictions and dependencies
- how to work with visionary states
- how to enhance performance
- how to meet everyday challenges
The 3rd day of class is a special clinic. During clinic we will learn the principles and applications of an integrated trance, sound, and music approach through mentorship. The focus of clinic is to experience different ways of applying the work with Dr. Beaulieu’s guidance. During clinic Dr. Beaulieu will give sessions and explain how the principles taught in class are being applied. This leads to discussions and clarifications and refinements based on clinical experience.

John Beaulieu, N.D., Ph.D., is a composer/musician, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor. He has studied and integrated trance and sound in both the healing and performance arts for over forty years. He is the author of Human Tuning, Music And Sound In The Healing Arts, and numerous research articles on the molecular effects of sound related to biology of stress and altered states of consciousness. Dr. Beaulieu is the director of BioSonic Enterprises, Ltd., an international corporation dedicated to tuning the world, and an adjunct professor of Integrative Health at CIIS University where he teaches the integration of sound healing into all therapeutic modalities.

Dr. Stone was an avid student and seeker of truth and one of his great legacies is his book, The Mystic Bible . His elevated perspective sheds new light on the Old Stories of the Bible and broadens our understanding of the higher chakras or realms of consciousness. As we know, energy follows thought and when we approch our clients from an higher place of awareness and understanding we offer a tremendous resource to their healing process. Dr. Stone refered to the spine as the Ultrasonic Core. It is the antenna of the soul and the transmitter of consciousness. Combining Dr. Stone’s Mystic philosophy and his specialized spinal techniques, students will learn to release pent up stress in the spine and help their client’s open their consciousness.
Senior Instructor James Arena has been practicing Polarity Therapy since 1979. He began his search for alternative and deeper healing when challenged with his own health issues and found Polarity Therapy to be the most effective method of self healing. His studies have included Emotional Anatomy, Polarity Cranial-Sacral Therapy and specializes in “voice-dialogue”, which reaches interior conflicts to create resolution and natural harmony. James has been features on several health talk radio programs nation wide and his special and unique approach to this healing art spans to over 25 years of service.
